  Rev 13&17

Some things in Revelation takes years, decades to understand until one day perhaps when all of a sudden, things congeal, an epiphany occurs, and what was hard, all of a sudden is easy.

This is what happened here in regard to some details of chapter 13 & 17. Below I will include Revelation chapter 13 & 17 from the ASV Bible.

 Commentary: one beast: 7 heads, horns & diadems 10. 3 heads have 2 horns & 2 diadems.

The heads represent the 7 world powers indicated in scripture, at times with name: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Rome (and what it fragmented into), and finally Anglo-America. Ref: Rev 17:9.

V.3's head refers to the Vatican Kingdom.

The following video is the source for some of the historical information:
The Vatican and America

From ca 1870, the Italian King Victor Emmanuel confiscated all of the lands and means of tax income of the Holy See in Italy. Over the next few years, the Vatican was reduced to the city state we know presently. It also brought the Vatican to bankruptcy so that at the turn of the century the Vatican was broke.

In 1929, Italy pays the Vatican ca. US$ 92 million, worth at today's currency, according to said video, 1.1 billion dollars. This brought the Vatican back on foot and it was able to get out of its solvency problems and become what it is today. End of paraphrased material.

Mortal wound
Conclusion

From the above, it becomes evident that this Papal State with the pope being its King was mortally wounded, having both its lands and tax revenue removed. As we were told, it was broke. Its healing took place when it received an enormous amount of money in 1929. Since then it has been vibrantly healthy performing according to Rev 13 & 17.

The two horned beast like a lamb represent the Anglo-American powers that work jointly. Perhaps one may state that the UK-US cooperation began in 1917.

Since 1984, they have carried out verse 12. The Bible's message is self interpreting. The interpretation of much begins in chapter 17 from verse 7.

Image of beast:
The image of the beast, what represents all political governments and speak for them is obviously the UN.

Mark of beast - 666:
The mark is not yet identified, but it seems about to be revealed momentarily judging from world conditions. 6 repeated three times emphasizes imperfection three fold. The significance of the mark of the beast then is to emphasize how flawed the political capitalistic system is.

Here from v. 7, the angel is going to enlighten us by showing us how the mystery is explained.

Key to understanding  in 8:
The mortally wounded head comes out of the abyss, healing itself from its wound, and shall go into perdition!

Perdition is the key to the mystery because all heads and beasts are going into perdition at Armageddon. When the angel specifically points out that this head is going to perdition, it is shown as perishing prematurely by the means that is revealed here.

Its going into premature perdition (vis à vis the others) and that it is of the seven though also an eighth king - tell us that this in fact refers to the Papal state, the Vatican, the city on the seven hills / mountains of Rev 17:9 - for all the others are destroyed at Armageddon.

Of the seven, but the eighth 11:
Compare 13:3, 17:9 and 17:11. It can be seen that the mortally wounded head that was, is not, and is an eighth of the seven, and goes to perdition,  - is not a recent, new, king. It is ancient for it is one of the 7, who is different, an eighth. Different how? By being the Harlot, the Vatican Kingdom, that great city on the 7 hills / mountains, Babylon the Great.

That is what Rome, the Vatican, is known to be: the city on the seven hills. City of Seven Hills (17:9)

Thus we may understand that the Whore, Babylon the Great, is specifically the Vatican State with its Catholic church, the eighth king that is of the seven. Surely, she reigns over the kings of the earth.

ASV: Revelation Chapter 13

1 and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

3
And I saw one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;

4 and they worshipped the dragon, because he gave his authority unto the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? And who is able to war with him? 5 and there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to him authority to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, even them that dwell in the heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. 8 And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain. 9 If any man hath an ear, let him hear. 10 If any man is for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.

13 And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who hath the stroke of the sword and lived.

15 And it was given unto him to give breath to it, even to the image to the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as should not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead; 17 and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.

Chapter 17

1 And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters; 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and they that dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her fornication. 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations, even the unclean things of her fornication, 5 and upon her forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with a great wonder.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, they whose name hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.

9 Here is the mind that hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth: 10 and they are seven kings; the five are fallen, the one is (comment: Rome at the time), the other is not yet come (comment: Anglo-America); and when he cometh, he must continue a little while.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goeth into perdition. 12 And the ten horns that thou sawest are ten kings, who have received no kingdom as yet; but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour. 13 These have one mind, and they give their power and authority unto the beast.

14 These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they also shall overcome that are with him, called and chosen and faithful. 15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast, these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire. 17 For God did put in their hearts to do his mind, and to come to one mind, and to give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished. 18 And the woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
