Do you agree that Holy Spirit descended on Jesus at his baptism?  If so, he already then got Holy Spirit, didn't he!

Since God began terra-forming the earth (Gen 1:2) his Holy Spirit has been active on earth itself, on men, and through men.  It most certainly has been present all this time and still is.  By Holy Spirit God worked on and through the prophets, by it Mary had the infant Jesus transferred into her womb, etc.

Is this correct?

Matthew 10:5-7 . . .. These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not. 6But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give.

Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

When Jesus sent his disciples out empowered to cure and expel demons did he give the disciples Holy Spirit when doing this?

They cured by means of the Holy Spirit!  Is that correct?

Did the disciples have Holy Spirit given here right after his resurrection?
John 20:20-22, And when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. 21Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit: (ASV)

Did the disciples have Holy Spirit here, or not?  Yes, or No.

If the above is true, then they already had Holy Spirit given to them aplenty.  Why then does Jesus say this?

John 14:25-26, `These things I have spoken to you, remaining with you, 26and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I said to you. (YLT)

Luke 24: 49 Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”"

Acts 1:4 and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me: 5 For John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

Several things should be noticed.  As when a baby is given a name after having been born, all of a sudden the holy spirit is given a name: the Comforter, the Paraclete, the Teacher, the Helper, the Advocate.

Why is it now named?  It already has a name - Holy Spirit!  Or, did it?  Why is this Holy Spirit sent in Jesus' name?

And, therefore, in what name was the previous spirit they received given by?  It is still Holy Spirit!  But stop! What is said?  It is sent now in Jesus' name; it is given a name, the Paraclete, etc.  The purpose is specific.  Before, it was all purpose given in God's name, not Jesus' !

Why is this Paraclete called Jesus' spirit?
Rom 8:9, But *ye* are not in flesh but in Spirit, if indeed God's Spirit dwell in you; but if any one has not the Spirit of Christ *he* is not of him: (Darby)

John 14:25-26, `These things I have spoken to you, remaining with you, 26and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I said to you. (YLT)

Why is this spirit called the spirit of truth? - and said to come now when already they received Holy Spirit aplenty.  However at this later moment only to be defined as the "spirit of truth?"

John 16:13, and when He may come--the Spirit of truth--He will guide you to all the truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but as many things as He will hear He will speak, and the coming things He will tell you.

If the spirit being sent now is "the spirit of truth" — what was the former spirit given?  It must have been different from this "spirit of truth otherwise they would already have previously received the "spirit of truth !"

Instead it is said to be a future event because here it says, "when he may come - the spirit of truth - He will guide you . . ." Ergo, it hadn't come at any earlier point in time, even though they were given plenty of spirit previously! Why the differentiation?  Do you see it?  The spirit given previously was not the "spirit of truth."  Strange indeed ! In fact, impossible, if the spirit given is identical, and that is the continual problem with what is taught.

The Paraclete, the Comforter is then our "Spirit of Truth" that which came in Christ's name to teach us.  This spirit the Father sends in his son's Jesus Christ's name making its purpose differ from his Holy Spirit he sends out in his own name.

If you do not see the point made yet and abundantly with the above, that is your problem; but this is the only thing that I can see is taught.  I am not the master of anyone's faith.  As I say often, it is up to each to study and make their own conclusions.  I am just another servant of Christ, my Lord.
