  When the Sun

When the Sun hides its face

When the Sky gets angry, its countenance deep somber, the blackest of noire

When the Wind moans with a sorrow filled monotone

When the Sea froths at the mouth, wild in fury

When the cowardly moon occasional peeks from beneath its covers

When the trees sway like drunken men, balance unsure

When God’s voice sounds with force and stroke

When the fire from his mouth flicker hither and thither

Then roofs like birds take wing

Then umbrellas as if robbed by highway men lift their hands high in surrender

Then trees in terror split apart

Then animals in panic have no heart

Then humans with might to destroy the earth out of fear indoors cower with hands over ears, with eyes closed in terror

Then sailors who earth’s treasures transport short and far from valley to mountain top conveyed are with hearts of fear
