Out on a limb

            Going out on a limb
            that grows so thin
            the area is
            where plausible meets implausible
            where some sane
            label it in-sane

            Isaiah and the Psalmist
            that of it spoke
            about our time
            a breaking lose of hell us choke
            - then neither rhyme
            nor reason we invoke
             

            The earth he says
            those far away
            from extremity unimaginable
            a visit terrible to this earth
            inflict upon us will
            with evil intent capable
             

           The earth to wreck
            with quakes will fill
            rock and roll it will
            atrembling in angst
            when God's burning anger
            his army dispatches
            to kill the light of sun and moon
             

            To kill earthling man
            what tool is invoked
            - in the heavenly places
            the wings of a dove
            around a sun will be seen
            bathing in blood
             

            This sun so terrible
            from where it is
            can not be known
            but surely we may
            in trembling and fear
            in faith and trepidation
            assured be of apparition vengeful

            In sheer apprehension
            the mountains may haps
            in quaking of the Lord
            into boisterous seas
            in consternation foaming
            descend away from
            his burning anger

            While trembling in distress
            snow-capped mountains majestic
            and humans, high born and low
            see Christ the king
            pay back all
            for their deeds, good and bad

           The fountains of earth
            foundered once again
            in rain most torrential
            snow, frost, and hail
            stones that kill
            as weapons of mass destruction
            for Christ and kingdom fight
