Presence:: Christ's Second Coming

(Review: 10.08.08)
The coming of Christ equals his being revealed to the world
. The day of Their Wrath, the Day of Wrath of God and the Lamb, begins.  While his coming is stealthily, suddenly and surprising all because nobody expected it, as when a thief comes, the results are anything but stealthily. They are as bluntly evident as a robber's knife in a victim's ribs.

Luke 21:25-28 And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roar of the sea and rolling waves, 26men ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28But when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh. (Darby)

Matthew 26:64 Jesus says to him, *Thou* hast said. Moreover, I say to you, From henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven. (Darby)

Matthew 24:30-31 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Webster)

Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (Webster)

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night. 3For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape. (DRC)

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also that pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth shall bewail themselves because of him. Even so. Amen. (DRC)

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. (DRC)
Thus we see that Christ coming is his being revealed to the world. Not that the world shall see him since the 'clouds' will obscure him. However, they KNOW that he has come, and they lament. It is payback for all, good and evil.  Thus Christ's coming is harbinger for Armageddon that follows immediately upon his heels.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 And to you who are troubled, rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven, with the angels of his power: 8In a flame of fire, giving vengeance to them who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9Who shall suffer eternal punishment in destruction, from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. (DRC)
Christ coming is with power, the power of a divine King who needs to see to his enemies! and see to the salvation of his subjects assaulted by Satan's world! Christ received this appointment as king from his heavenly Father, Jehovah, the Almighty.
(Darby)
Dan 7:13,14 I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man, and he came up even to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of the heavens set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the sovereignty thereof shall not be left to another people: it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, but itself shall stand for ever.

Upon coming, the glorious King Jesus Christ shall do several things:

A: After the Great Tribulation, those of the Saints remaining on earth shall be removed in one go.
(YLT)
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 for this to you we say in the word of the Lord, that we who are living--who do remain over to the presence of the Lord--may not precede those asleep, 16because the Lord himself, in a shout, in the voice of a chief-messenger, and in the trump of God, shall come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first, 17then we who are living, who are remaining over, together with them shall be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in air, and so always with the Lord we shall be;

Matthew 24:29-31 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken; . . .31and he shall send his messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens unto the ends thereof.
B. This happens before Armageddon, and the purpose is for the Christ's marriage to the Saints to occur.
Revelation 19:6-15 . . . because Jehovah our God, the Almighty, has begun to rule as king. 7 Let us rejoice and be overjoyed, and let us give him the glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has arrived and his wife has prepared herself. 8 . . .

11 And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. 12 His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, 13 and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God.

14 Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. 15 And out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty. (NW)
C. Once the marriage has transpired, the King and the Saints ride out to war, the war of Armageddon. There the Saints and the heavenly angels fight side by side with their only Lord and Owner, Christ Jesus. (Psalm 149:6,7; Micah 4:13; Zechariah 9:13; Malachi 4:3; Rev 2:26,27; Zephaniah 9:12-15;10:5,6; Rev 17:14, etc.)

D
: With the destruction of the ungodly and the chaining of Satan and his demons, Christ's thousand year reign has now been installed.
