The Trumpets

No timeline is apparent.  Remember their order may not necessarily be sequential in execution, though some by their definition have to be last.

Definition of the sea

The sea refers to wicked mankind. The waters may refer to all nations and peoples.

Isaiah 57:20,21, But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire. 21There is no peace to the wicked, saith the Lord God.

Rev 17,15, And he said to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and nations, and tongues.

Definition of the earth

The land then refers to stable parts of mankind, and their governments.

Rev 17,15, And he said to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and nations, and tongues.

Before the trumpets sound.

Revelation 8:5, And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it on the earth, and there were thunders and voices and lightnings, and a great earthquake.

The incense representing the prayers of the Saints is hurled to earth mingled with fire upon which loud sounds and lightnings occur.

First, it shows how God actively listens to these prayers, secondly, the reaction as mentioned is reminiscent of what happened on mount Sinai showing the events following this to be of divine origin.
Revelation 8:7, And the first angel sounded the trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and it was cast on the earth, and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. One of the ten plagues was similar but for the blood.

From the definitions of the sea and the earth above, it would seem that the part of stable mankind represented by the earth gets hurt seriously by what was the seventh Mosaic plague in the Egyptian series.

What has seriously affected stable nations of late?  Terrorism has been both hail and fire like; it surely has cost a lot of blood.  Is that what God refers to?  I do not know.
Revelation 8:8, And the second angel sounded the trumpet: and as it were a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood: 9And the third part of those creatures died, which had life in the sea, and the third part of the ships was destroyed. In Daniel 2:44,45 a great mountain representing God’s kingdom destroys the nations forever.  Here something like a great mountain, in other words, not a mountain, but similar in some ways and has a deadly affect upon non-stable part of mankind.

It may seem as if I have gotten fixated on terrorism, but isn’t present day terrorism like a government in its internal structure while not being a real government.  This terrorist fiery mountain surely is causing great damage worldwide in a most bloody manner.
Revelation 8:10,11, And the third angel sounded the trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, burning as it were a torch, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of And the name of the star is called Wormwood. And the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitterwaters: 11. Wormwood – a most unpleasant substance, a star even.  Usually stars represent heavenly angels.  Might this represent the effects of Satan’s fall to earth?

Satan is burning like a torch in the sense of dispensing dark light, spiritual black light that misleads all the nations.  The falling of this on the fountains of water that habitually spew forth clean pure water now fouls these springs of life up to become springs of death, wells of gall of bitterness.
Revelation 8:12, And the fourth angel sounded the trumpet, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not shine for a third part of it, and the night in like manner.

Is this referring to the degree of defection Satan caused from the heavenly realm?
Chapter 9
1And the fifth angel sounded the trumpet, and I saw a star fall from heaven upon the earth, and there was given to him the key of the bottomless pit.
2And he opened the bottomless pit: and the smoke of the pit arose, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke of the pit. 3And from the smoke of the pit there came out locusts upon the earth. And power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power: 4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree: but only the men who have not the sign of God on their foreheads. 5And it was given unto them that they should not kill them; but that they should torment them five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he striketh a man. 6And in those days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them. 7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle: and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold: and their faces were as the faces of men. 8And they had hair as the hair of women; and their teeth were as lions: 9And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle. 10And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had over them 11A king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans, 12One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter.
First, the star referred to here must be Jesus Christ who is the destroyer of evil things.  He has the key to the abyss in which Satan and his angels shall be imprisoned for a thousand years.

The locusts then must be his brothers, the Saints that give a devastating witness to those without faith.  These are also the ones that seek death since they crave to be freed from their earthly existence and put on their immortality.

Unfortunately, suicide is not an option since that would disqualify them from their Saintly position. These must suffer as Christ till the end and have tribulation in the flesh 10 days, until they die.

Thus the torment inflicted by the locusts on men is a spiritual torment.

13And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God, 14Saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels, who are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men. 16And the number of the army of horsemen was twenty thousand times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them. 17And thus I saw the horses in the vision: and they that sat on them, had breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions: and from their mouths proceeded fire, and smoke, and brimstone. 18And by these three plagues was slain the third part of men, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For, their tails are like to serpents, and have heads: and with them they hurt. 20And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21Neither did they penance from their murders, nor from their sorceries, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts.

The four angels bound who are loosened are difficult to understand.

Again, I take them to be the Saints.  The fire, smoke and brimstone reminds us of what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah.  Their faces of lions means that their primary quality here is that of courage.

With their tails they sting mankind with their gospel of damnation for the unrepentant, and the unrepentant are the ones addressed in this section for sure.

Rev 10:7,in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall be finished, as he hath declared by his servants the prophets. .

Rev 11,15And the seventh angel sounded the trumpet: and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of this world is become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign for ever and ever. Amen.
The scripture is self-evident.  However, there is this to say:
Christ became king in 33CE, (See Coronation of Christ – When? )

"The kingdom of this world is become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign for ever and ever" of course refers to the removal of all the wicked in Armageddon, and Christ's reign exercised on all the world, not just on his followers.
